Doctors recommend that we should drink as much water as we can or at least 8 glasses a day to stay healthy. However, the water is very taste-neutral, besides keeping a bottle of water by your side all the time isn’t easy either. But what about a water blob that you can carry around and eat it as well, wouldn’t that be fun?
This amazing orb of water has been created by Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez, Guillaume Couche, and Pierre Paslier from Skipping Rocks Lab in London. The edible water blob, named Ooho, is prepared from an inexpensive material, which is layered onto the spherical ball of frozen water to encapsulate it completely. The biodegradable coating is composed of calcium chloride and brown algae, which means not only can you eat the entire thing, but it will also help us get rid of non-degradable plastic bottles.
Ooho is the ultimate future of our hydration preferences and it can help us achieve a cleaner environment. The research was recently funded an award of $22,500 from the EU. In America alone, about 50 billion plastic bottles are used and because of their stubborn chemistry, they continue to be a huge source of contaminants in the world. Hopefully, Ooho will help us solve this problem.
