Chernobyl Blade Runner – Watch the Inspiring Story of Disabled Athlete and Bodybuilder

Tanya Khvitsko, 24, was born in Belarus, 4 years after the infamous Chernobyl incident. This duration however couldn’t rid Tanya off the devastating effects of the tremendous amount of radiation leaked as a result of the nuclear explosion. She was born with no legs and malformed hands.

Soon after birth, her parents left her at orphanage, from where she was finally adopted to a family at the age of 4. It wasn’t until she was 13 that Tanya discovered that her adopting parents were also her biological parents, who later realized their mistake and came back for her.

Although, she doesn’t remember much of her childhood, her disabilities would make her very inspiring and determinant women in the future. At the age of six, Tanya was six-year-old Tanya was fitted with new prosthetic legs and her long and untiring journey began.

Tanya, whose birth name is Tatsiana, has gone on to become a half marathon runner and body builder.
