A Muslim family’s encounter with Gwinnett police officers on Thanksgiving weekend has got the internet talking about it.
Zanub Rizvi, who lives in Georgia, wrote in a Facebook post, that she, her daughter and mother-in-law were on their way towards a Muslim religious gathering.
Unfortunately, there was a little accident and they had to wait for paramedics to arrive, while police also came to document the incident.
The paramedics and police officers were all white males. But they did not react discriminately to their Muslim dressing, in fact, their treatment was excessively polite after realizing that they are Muslims.
A policemen approached and asked very politely, “I don’t want to be disrespectful Ma’am, is it ok if I check your neck?” The paramedics showed the same care with a kind tone.
Rizvi wrote that she was very surprised by the kind manner in which both the paramedics and police had handled them.
